Fresh, air-roasted coffee from Bensenville, IL. We're one of only 1% of roasters worldwide using fluid bed air roasting, which suspends the beans on hot air instead of tumbling them in a hot drum. The result is a cleaner, smoother cup that's never bitter, never burnt, and always fresh. We roast in small batches and ship within 24 to 48 hours. Find us at 250+ Chicagoland farmers markets and events a year, or order online with $5 flat-rate shipping. Subscribe and save 10%.
Gigawatt Coffee Roasters was founded by Eli and Jen Coleman in February 2020, just weeks before the world shut down. Our original plan was to sell to offices and corporate environments, and almost overnight, that plan was gone. So we crumpled it up and started over. We pivoted to farmers markets, and that turned out to be the best thing that could have happened. They became the heart of our business, and they still are. What started as a way to get fresh coffee into our neighbors' hands has grown into 250+ markets and events a year across Chicagoland. It's how we meet our community, hand someone a bag of beans, and hear how they're drinking it. The name Gigawatt came from our roasting method: air roasting runs entirely on electricity, a little lightbulb moment that captured the energy and care we put into every batch. We air roast in small batches for a smooth, clean taste, price it so a great cup is an everyday thing, and ship nationwide for anyone outside market range. Never bitter. Never burnt. Always fresh.
