Ground Floor Coffee Company was founded on May 17, 2019, and the road from there to the front door was not a straight one. Weeks before the planned demo, March 2020 changed everything. Renovations finally began that September, and the doors opened on June 23, 2023. Husband-and-wife team Jason and Mel turned roasters to blend their love for coffee with a shared commitment to serve others. Their three sons have gained hands-on work and life experience through each phase of the business. A sister company, Behavioral Connections, extends that mission by providing a safe, meaningful trade experience for individuals on the autism spectrum. The vision is a space where everyone feels welcomed, comfortable and accepted, and a stepping stone for people new to the workforce. Every year they roast and brew, the aim is to shrink the carbon footprint and use coffee as a catalyst for community, inclusion and positive change. Stay Grounded.
