Orange Sky Coffee Roasters is a cafe and in-house roastery at 6 Main Street in West Orange, New Jersey. They roast weekly on a Giesen W6A in the back room and serve espresso, pour over, flash cold brew, breakfast sandwiches and pastries out front. Open 7am to 4pm Monday through Friday and 8am to 4pm on weekends.
Ray Laws-Locicero is an electrical engineer by trade who moved into coffee full time, after first dabbling in commercial roasting with his sister on shared equipment at a roasting facility in Queens. He and Patricia Laws-Locicero opened Orange Sky on Main Street in West Orange in April 2024, with a Giesen W6A in a roughly 270 square foot back room, a two group Kees van der Westen Spirit on the bar, and a nitro system on tap. They buy most of their green coffee through Royal New York, and roast both bold and bright: darker for the milk drinks, lighter for the single origins. As Ray described the room, they were going for minimalist but not austere, with pops of bold color.
