Bongo Roasting Co.

Bongo Roasting Co. is the roasting arm of Bongo Java, which opened March 28, 1993 in an 80-year-old house turned cafe in Nashville. It was founded by Bob Bernstein, a former journalist who moved from his hometown of Skokie, IL to Nashville in 1988 to work as a reporter for the Nashville Business Journal. He grew fond of the city but tired of his career, and noting that Nashville lacked the kind of coffeehouse he had frequented in high school and college, he opened Bongo Java.
