About
Half Mile Coffee Roasters is where the coffee's journey continues. We are one chapter in a much larger coffee story. Long before coffee reaches us, countless people have devoted themselves to producing something remarkable. Our role is simply to honor their work by roasting thoughtfully, serving generously, and helping people discover what coffee can be.
Our Story
Half Mile Coffee was founded on the understanding that coffee can be more than a daily routine. It is one of the world's great culinary gifts—a product shaped by remarkable places and extraordinary people. Every exceptional cup represents years of dedication from farmers, processors, exporters, importers, roasters, and brewers, each contributing their part to something far greater than themselves. We see ourselves as one chapter in that story, entrusted with faithfully continuing the work that began long before the coffee reached us. Our name reflects that connection. Moscow, Idaho sits at roughly half a mile in elevation, and a half mile is also where specialty coffee begins its journey in producing countries around the world. Though separated by thousands of miles, our small town is connected to coffee-growing communities through every bag we roast and every cup we serve. The name reminds us that remarkable things can begin in places the world often overlooks. From the beginning, our desire has been simple: to help people discover what coffee can be. Through thoughtful roasting, genuine hospitality, and a commitment to education, we hope every visit leaves people with a greater appreciation—not only for what's in the cup, but for the people, places, and craftsmanship that made it possible. We believe that when coffee is approached with reverence and shared with generosity, it has the power to bring people together, strengthen communities, and reveal the extraordinary hidden within the ordinary.
