Urban Dwellers Coffee is a small direct-trade roaster that sources from farms it knows in Chiapas, the Gayo Highlands of Sumatra, Yunnan and Colombia, and roasts each order at the time it is placed. It sells 12 oz bags and subscriptions online with free shipping over $40, supplies wholesale accounts and toll roasts for other businesses, and is the North American distributor for Kuppo reusable cups.
Jacob and Sara founded Urban Dwellers in 2016 while living in Asia. It began when they connected with a group working with Tibetan hand crafters in Nepal who made jewelry and needed a way to sell it, and Jacob and Sara wanted to help. That led to coffee once they realized the same model could support farmers in other industries. They source their coffee direct from the farmers who produce it, believing a direct relationship is what lets them have the greatest impact, and while they use some of the largest importers in North America to simplify logistics, they make it a point to know the farms they buy from. They also offer a line of sustainable, reusable cups through a direct partnership with Kuppo.
