Est. 2019

Small-batch roaster, drive-thru coffee bar and home of Lucille the Coffee Truck, in a converted old gas station in downtown Beresford, South Dakota. Roasting since 2019.
Shania Rozeboom, owner and self-described roastess, learned to roast at Watertown Confectionery while in business school, then ran a coffee shop as barista, roaster and baker. After moving back to her hometown area in 2018 she realised fresh roasted coffee was not part of small-town life there, so in May 2019 she bought the very roaster she had learned on and set up in Beresford, selling at farmers markets and roasting espresso for local coffee shops. In 2021 she and her husband turned a 1981 step van, an old ice cream truck found in the middle of Nebraska, into Lucille the Coffee Truck. Rainy Day stayed a side hustle until March 2023, when Shania went full time. That fall they found the old gas station downtown, with a drive-thru window already in place and room for Lucille in the garage, and opened The Station in November 2024: roastery, drive-thru, coffee bar and grab-and-go kitchen known for hearty breakfast burritos. Rainy Day also roasts house blends for cafes and shops across southeast South Dakota.
