About
East View Coffee Company is a small-batch roaster and cafe in downtown Kenosha, Wisconsin, founded by Jenny Ulbricht. Nearly all of East View's green coffee comes from women producers - a commitment that began at just over 50% of the lineup and now runs close to 100% - bought through direct relationships with farms in Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Mexico, Colombia and Brazil. Coffee is roasted two days a week on 58th Street and shipped carbon-neutral, and the shop doubles as a tasting room and community space.
Our Story
Jenny Ulbricht came to coffee by way of plumbing at the South Pole Station in Antarctica, a kayak circumnavigation of Lake Superior, and graduate school in geoscience. "I fell in love with geology because it was this perfect vehicle of scientific application," she says. "Coffee is very similar, and I love to ask questions and apply knowledge to keep improving and understanding all the changes that take coffee from a green seed to a beverage so full of flavor, depth, and fun." East View is her way of making "small, consequential decisions toward making the world a little kinder, more accessible, and more inclusive" - the goal, she says, is progress and not perfection.
