Oregon helped define what specialty coffee means in America. Portland alone is home to dozens of independent roasters. Names like Heart, Coava, and Sterling have put the city on the global coffee map, and a new generation of micro-roasters continues to push boundaries with experimental processing, direct trade relationships, and hyper-local sourcing.

Beyond Portland, the state's coffee culture runs deep. Eugene's roasters bring a laid-back, community-first ethos. Bend's high-desert scene blends outdoor culture with meticulous sourcing, and Bend Roasting Company roasts there. Salem has Archive Coffee and Bar, Diverso Coffee Roasters, Governor's Cup Coffee, Legacy Coffee Roasters, Odolla Coffee Roasters, Oregon Coffee & Tea, Pastega Coffee Roasters, Prismatic Coffee Roasters, and Salem Coffee Roaster. Maupin has Bold Coffee Roasters, Holy Roasters Coffee, and Maupin Coffee. Along the coast and in the Willamette Valley, small-batch roasters serve tight-knit towns with coffees that reflect the Pacific Northwest's commitment to quality and sustainability.

What sets Oregon apart is the density and diversity of its roasters. Whether you're after a light-roasted single-origin Ethiopian natural, a classic medium-bodied Latin American blend, or a bold espresso, there's an independent roaster, often within walking distance, doing it at a world-class level.
